Freida Wang is a Chinese-born Canadian visual artist based in Toronto and Edmonton who works in multidisciplinary visual arts, photography, video and performance. Her work explores concepts of identity—and lack thereof—found through intersectionality and existentialism. Working from a queer and feminist framework, her work often delves into the ties between past and present moments in the act of belonging and accentuates the impermanence in the act of being.
